Privacy Policy
Draft – to be reviewed before launch.
Last updated: 8 November 2026
This policy explains which personal data Affect processes, why, and what rights you have. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who is responsible
Jennifer Dürlewanger (Affect). Postal address: see Imprint.

2. Visiting Affect
When you open a page, our hosting provider automatically records technical data (server logs): IP address, date and time, the page requested and your browser. This is needed to deliver the website, find errors and keep it secure. The logs are kept only for a short time by the hosting provider and are not combined with other data.
Affect uses one session cookie and the browser’s session storage to keep the order of the people on the start page while you browse, and – only if you choose a language – a cookie that remembers it. During the closed test phase, a cookie also remembers that you entered the access code. Details: see Cookies.
No tracking, no advertising, no profiling. We do not use Google Analytics or social media pixels. Films and music can come from other services (YouTube, Vimeo, Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud): their player only loads when you press “Play”, and from then on your IP address and what you play go to that service, under its own privacy policy. Without “Play”, nothing is sent to them.
3. Applying and being a member
To become an @, we process: your e-mail address, name and handle, disciplines, city, experience level, languages, bio, your path (studies, studios, jobs), clients, your projects, images and credits, what you are open to, your mentoring formats and prices, your phone number, and optionally your website and Instagram, links to your films and music, and songs you upload.
We use this data to review your application by hand and, once accepted, to show your profile. Public profiles are visible to everyone; profiles set to “members only” are visible to logged-in members. Your e-mail address, website and Instagram are never shown to guests – only to logged-in members. Your phone number is seen only by Affect: it is kept as a safety net, to confirm it is you if your e-mail address stops working.
Legal basis: the membership agreement (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Your agreement to the Terms and your confirmation that you own the rights to your images are stored with the date.
3a. Sharing on social media
Only if you agree in your application (optional, no effect on acceptance): Affect may post images of your work on its social media channels, such as Instagram, always with your name or handle. Those platforms then process the images under their own terms.
Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time by writing to info@jenniferanger.com; we then post nothing new and remove existing posts where possible.
4. Requests
When you ask someone for a collab, a commission, a mentoring call or a workshop, we process your name, e-mail address, the kind of request (“I am a …”) and your message. Guests first confirm their e-mail address.
With a commission request you can add up to three files (a brief, a mood board, references). They are stored privately; only Affect sees them, and the member once Affect passes the commission on to them – without your name or e-mail address.
Collab and workshop requests are passed on to the member by e-mail. Commission requests go to Affect, which handles them with the member. Mentoring calls are still being built: if you join the waitlist, only Affect receives your name and e-mail address, to tell you when they are live.
Legal basis: carrying out your request (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in a safe, spam-free platform (Art. 6(1)(f)).
5. Log-in
You log in with a link sent to your e-mail address – no password. A login cookie keeps you logged in until you log out.
6. Service providers
We work with these providers, who process data only on our behalf:Supabase – database, images and login; servers in the EU (Frankfurt).Netlify – hosting of the website; USA.Resend – sending e-mails; USA.
Data sent to the USA is protected by the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, otherwise by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
We do not sell your data and do not pass it on to anyone else, unless the law requires it.
7. How long we keep data
Member data: as long as you are a member. When you delete your account, your profile, images and data are deleted.
Declined applications: deleted after 6 months, so we can answer questions about the decision and recognise a new application.
Commission requests and their files: kept for 24 months, so that projects introduced through Affect can be traced (see Terms of Use).
Other requests (collabs, mentoring calls, workshops): deleted after 6 months.
8. Your rights
You can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a common format, and withdraw any consent at any time. Write to info@jenniferanger.com.
You can complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, to the data protection authority of your country.
Applications are reviewed by people, not by automated decisions.
9. Changes
We update this policy when Affect changes. The date above shows the latest version.
